— Takes PDP Leaders On Project Tour
As the first-term Chairmen of Local Government Areas in Rivers State prepare to mark their two years anniversary in June, the Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area Dr Chidi Lloyd has reiterated his administration’s commitment towards sustaining the infrastructure revolution witnessed across the Local Government Area under his watch.
He disclosed that some of the infrastructure projects flagged off within the first year of his administration had already been completed and earmarked for inauguration in his 2nd anniversary celebration.
Dr Lloyd stated this when he took some leaders of the People’s Democratic Party PDP in Emohua LGA on a tour of some of the projects being executed by his administration within and outside the Local Government Headquarters on Wednesday.
He said it has become his administration’s tradition to periodically invite the leadership of the PDP in the LGA for an on-the-spot assessment of developmental projects undertaken by his administration, to keep stakeholders abreast with the programs and activities of the Council under his watch, with a view to strengthening the relationship between the Local Government and the leadership of the PDP in the area.
The Emolga council Boss who noted that his administration had enjoyed a very cordial relationship with the leadership of the PDP in the area, reassured to sustain a transparent and all-inclusive council administration, including sacrificing personal benefits and entitlements to ensure that the story of Emohua LGA is rewritten with appreciable narratives for the overall development of the area.
The council chairman while conducting the PDP leaders around the project sites charged officials of the Local Government works department to intensify efforts to ensure that the projects already earmarked for inauguration during his administration’s two years anniversary are fully completed in line with their specifications.
Apart from the already completed 1.5 Kilometer Uke-Eli road with 3-kilometre drainage in Rundele (Ward 7) and the Primary Healthcare Center Cold Chain Facility situated within the council headquarters, the council chairman said efforts are also being taken to ensure that other critical projects are completed for commissioning during the 2nd-anniversary celebration.
Other projects already nearing completion include the construction of the Ultramodern Emohua Local Government Administrative Building; The 350 Capacity ICT Studio, The Primary Healthcare Doctors’ Quarters and Offices, The Council Pavilion (Mini Stadium), as well as the Council Store (Warehouse) all situated within the council headquarters.
Also making appreciable progress among the projects executed simultaneously across Emohua LGA by the administration of Dr Chidi Lloyd are the construction of the Emohua Divisional Police Headquarters situated opposite the Rivers State University campus along Emohua-Kalabari Road, the reconstruction and remodelling of the Emohua Legislative Assembly Complex, the construction of 1 Kilometer Ubimini Road and 1 Kilometer Chief Nyesom Wike Drive in Akpabu; Akpabu Water Reticulation Project, as well as the Council Secretariat Building (Office Complex), abandoned by successive administrations.
